Fourth Annual Tampa Pig Jig Cooks up BBQ for a Cure

Tampa Pig Jig takes over Tampa’s Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Satuday, November 8th!

Thousands of barbecue fans are set to take over Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Saturday, November 8, 2014 (2-10 p.m.), for the fourth annual Tampa Pig Jig, presented by Dex Imaging and USAmeriBank. The family-friendly event will include a barbecue competition with local celebrity judges, live music, games, a silent auction, delicious food and drinks. The Tampa Pig Jig, which is 100 percent volunteer-run, donates all proceeds from the event to NephCure Kidney International, the only non-profit organization committed to finding a cure for the debilitating kidney disease, FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis).

While more than 35 hopeful barbecue teams will be on site before the sun rises readying their prize-winning meats, the Tampa Pig Jig will open to the public at 2 p.m. with live music playing until the bitter end at 10 p.m. The barbecue competition will be judged by a panel of local celebrities. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m. and prizes will be awarded to the best brisket, butt, ribs and wild card entries, and one overall “Grand Champion.”
